🪡 About the Ribbon

Made from recycled mulberry sari silk — the finest silk in the world, upcycled from traditional Indian sari fabric. Natural warm ivory-cream color. The frayed edges are a deliberate feature creating soft organic texture and blending potential.

🎨 Dyeing Techniques

🌿 1. Natural / Botanical Dyeing

  1. Mordant silk in alum (15% WOF) for 45 minutes
  2. Simmer plant material 1 hour; strain
  3. Add mordanted silk; simmer 45–60 minutes
  4. Cool slowly in dye bath; rinse and dry in shade

💜 3. Acid Dyeing

Dissolve acid dye in hot water, add silk and white vinegar, simmer at 82°C for 30–45 minutes. Full spectrum, excellent lightfastness.

🌀 4. Shibori & Resist Dyeing

Fold, bind, or clamp the ribbon before dyeing for extraordinary resist patterns.

🌈 5. Ombre & Gradient Dyeing

Dip-dye in progressively deeper baths for beautiful gradients.
